Skin Love: Vitamin E
It may or may not be true that up until recently I've completely neglected the skin on my face (it's true), but whilst replenishing my stock of the delicious Passionberry Born Lippy Pot Lip Balm at The Body Shop a couple of months ago, a 'pretty in pink' skincare range caught my eye.
The Vitamin E Skincare Range at The Body Shop consists of various products that are suitable for all skin types and all help to protect the skin from premature aging. Considering just how organised and almost meticulous I can be at times, it's quite surprising how relaxed I've been when it comes to my skin; my cabinets are full to the brim with exfoliating creams, mositurisers and much, much more.. however none of which can be applied to the face. So, I figured that the summer of my 21st birthday was the perfect time to turn my bad habits around and treat my body with a little more kindness. Instead of buying each item individually, I bought the Vitamin E Night-Time Essentials Beauty Kit in a fleeting moment of 'Go Big or Go Home'. Thankfully, I don't have to regret my decision as two months in and I'm falling into a comfortable evening routine, as well as falling in love with the range.
Firstly, I had absolutely no idea how relaxing it would be to have a night-time skin routine and I genuinely feel as though I've been missing out on that until now! The smell of the range is beautifully light, refreshing and feminine, making the application process all the more enjoyable. I'll mention now that as you may be able to see from the first photo, I haven't been using the Vitamin E Hydrating Toner as with my sensitive skin I've had some hellish experiences with toners in the past. Being a total novice at facial skincare, I was surprised to see how little of the products are needed in comparison to body products (which in hindsight I can now see makes total sense), which makes the Vitamin E range excellent value for money!
One of my favourite products to have invested in is the Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil, particularly because I spontaneously decided to start applying it to the back of my hands one night, as well as areas of my face. For reasons unknown to me, I take really good care of my hands and so I was beyond excited when I started feeling the positive effects the evening application of the Serum-in-Oil was having on my hands. Ah, one definite negative about blogging is that I'm unable to have you all feel how soft the backs of my hands are right now!
I had high hopes for The Vitamin E Cream Exfoliator and I wasn't at all disappointed, which goes some way in explaining why the product is currently unavailable over The Body Shop website. In particular, it's worked wonders on the skin around my nose, so if that's a problem area for you then you may want to keep an eye out for when the Cream Exfoliator comes back in stock. Needless to say that the Vitamin E Nourishing Night Cream has been just as enjoyable to use as it's appearance may suggest (it's becoming difficult not to dip my entire hand into the pot) and leaves my skin feeling smooth, as well as smelling of flowers! Out of all of the products used on my face from this range, the Nourishing Night Cream has had the biggest impact on my skin.
Finally, we have the Sumptuous Cleansing Butter which was also included in the skincare pack. It is advertised as 'an indulgent make-up remover for the whole face', however as I mentioned before I'm a total novice to facial skincare and.. yeah, I've been applying the butter to my neck. Even now whilst typing I'm unsure of what originally made me think that would be a good idea, however it definitely hasn't done any harm and has perhaps even done some good. Is the skin on my neck softer? Yes. I'll stop talking about that product now though before I embarrass myself any further..
Overall, I've been incredibly impressed by this range and I have a feeling I've been bitten by The Body Shop bug (if I wasn't already)! Although I may know very little about facial skincare products/techniques, I am quite diligent when it comes to looking after my lips and so I've already set my sights on the tempting Vitamin E Lip Care SPF 15! Also, writing this review prompted my curiosity to lead me over to the product review sections over on The Body Shop website and I feel strangely justified at my adoration for the range, after finding nearly everybody who has tested the items that make up the Vitamin E range feeling a similar way, with many of the products receiving nearly 100% positive customer feedback!
I'd love to know whether anyone else has trialled this Vitamin E range since it's release and how you feel about it!?
