When I changed the name of my blog, I mentioned that I would be uploading more outfit posts.. and seeing as though I'm not one to break my word, I figured there's no time like the present!
It was only once I returned home and back to speedier internet access that I noticed L&L stood for Lola & Liza, a store that although was unknown to the UK, seemed to be a pretty big deal in Belgium. I recently purchased a beautiful green and blue patterned dress on my first visit to L&L and was intending to wear it on my 21st birthday. Well, the weather over my birthday weekend put a definite stop to my plans and instead insisted that I cover up my entire body to avoid ending up in hospital with pneumonia.
Thankfully, this didn't stop me from being able to take some decent photos of my cute little patterned dress in my garden, for this previous weekend saw the sun come out to play for at least four minutes (I'm just being bitter, it stayed put for a couple of hours)!
This dress has immediately shot up to the top of my list of favourite dresses that I've added to my wardrobe, particularly because it was purchased abroad meaning that it has special memories attached to it. For me, it now feels as though I'm not just wearing a pretty dress, I'm wearing a piece of Belgium! Now that the British weather is calling out for chunky knits and demanding that all sun cream be locked away ready for next year, I was so pleased to be able to squeeze one last drop out of the season before packing away this L&L gem.
Thankfully, the accessories worn as part of this look don't need to go anywhere just yet! The silver heart necklace was one of my extra little 21st birthday presents (of which I'll be posting more about sometime very soon!) and has very quickly become one of my go-to necklaces due to it's simplicity enabling it to work with almost any outfit. The packaging for the Joma Jewellery necklace was utterly adorable, with the words 'wear this silver heart every day to bring a little love your way' written on the display card. Oh and yes, I've already started adding further Joma Jewellery pieces to my wishlist, including the classic Cecily Necklace featuring a tiny pave bar, as well as the cute Daisy Chain Necklace!
This dress is an idyllic solution to the dilemma of what to wear to a summer invitation, as well as simply to wear whilst out shopping, so it'd be an understatement to say that I'm sad to be packing it away now that Autumn is on our doorstep. Having said that, I'm determined to focus on the positive in any given situation, which in this instance comes in the form of reminding myself that come SS15, I'll know exactly which dress to pull out of my wardrobe at the first sight of sunshine.. and in the meantime, I'll be sure to visit an L&L store whenever I next find myself in Belgium. Luckily for me, I tend to find myself in Belgium quite often!
During my visit to the L&L store I purchased this dress at, I found that the place was pretty popular, so if anyone else has visited a Lola & Liza store before, let me know as I'd love to hear your stories?!
