Clinique High Impact Lip Colour

I've mentioned a couple of times recently that I would be doing a review on the Clinique High Impact Lip Colour and here it (finally) is!  I picked up this shade as an impulse buy on my way home from visiting Germany in December and I don't at all regret it.  For someone who wears lipstick every single day without fail, I have very few lip products.. and so I'm on a mission to change that!
I chose the High Impact Lip Colour in Extreme Pink (19) to make a change from the deeper, berry shade I've mainly been wearing this winter.  With regard to the colour, it seems to variate in every setting - the colour shown on the Clinique website is quite different to how the colour is to the naked eye.  Even more interestingly, the colour then changes significantly from that again when transferred to the lips to the extent of nearly colour-matching a Clinique Chubby Stick I already had in my cosmetic case!  I have naturally rather pink lips and so that may go some way in explaining the colour change, however I would definitely suggest testing it before purchasing, because as I was fortunate to love the different shade on my lips, it could have easily been a different story!

(Head to my Instagram to see the colour in action)

The packaging is beautiful, which is something I've come to anticipate with Clinique.  The best compliment I can pay the High Impact Lip Colour is the incredible moisturising ability that it claims to have, as it is undoubtedly the smoothest application I've encountered with a lip product - its moisturising benefits appears to be endless! Although Clinique claim the Lip Colour wears for eight hours, my experience has seen the colour stay put for approximately half of that time.  SO, weighing up the pros and cons, I would rate the Clinique High Impact Lip Colour at 7/10.  I wouldn't go knocking people down to reach it when you're next out shopping, but it's still worth a leap of joy if you happen to receive it as a gift!

With love,

Gabrielle x

  38. Hi Gabrielle, I viewed the lipstick on your lips from your Instagram link and oh, it is so pink and different from what is seen here. Now I know why you mention about testing out. I'm only glad that you like the colour on your lips. From your description of its moisturizing properties, It sure sounds promising. I don't care for the 8 hours that some long-wearing lipstick promise coz I would think those people did not eat or drink for 8 hours and so half the time is already very lasting!

    RYC:
Thank you for your sweet comment, Gabrielle. I gave him credit for being so sweet and indeed, poor hubby. I feel so sad for him too as I asked him about the charms one by one. =D So glad that he let me change the charms as he felt it was important for me to wear something that I like.
