RHS Garden, Wisley

I've worked out that I favour 'extremes' when it comes to the weather.  I like either torrential rain, inches upon inches of snow, gale force winds, or heat waves.  Needless to say, my winning vote goes to heat waves and mainly due to living in the UK - it's very much a case of wanting what I don't have!  Having said that, this weekend brought the first taste of spring and although there may not have been high temperatures that warrant new-season bikini shopping, there was sunshine, a double-digit temperature and a soft breeze.  It was this beautiful spring-time combination that saw me embark on the journey to RHS Garden, Wisley..

International Giveaway: Lipsy London Palettes!

I had intended on holding my first giveaway when I reached 500 followers, but if I've learnt anything in my twenty-one years so far, it's that plans can change!  So, here we are at over 650 Bloglovin' followers and I am absolutely over the moon at the support A Glass Of Ice has received since it began last spring/summer.  In true blogger fashion, I figured an international giveaway was the way to send back some love to you all for making my blogging journey so ridiculously enjoyable!

Leather Love

I mentioned earlier this month that I'd be styling the beautiful Daniel Wellington Classy Sheffield watch in the near future.. and here we are!  The temperature here is still uncharacteristically cold for mid-March, but the UK isn't exactly known for keeping to a schedule with regard to the weather, so I'll stop complaining.  Looking on the bright side, not only did it mean I could wear dark green nail varnish last week, it also means I can continue wearing cashmere jumpers and leather jackets together without angrily melting!

www.aglassofice.com

I've got some exciting news to kickstart the week, A Glass Of Ice is moving from www.aglassofice.blogspot.co.uk to www.aglassofice.com.

I'd been planning on making the move to a custom domain for a good couple of months, but continuously found reasons to stall.. until now!  Hopefully the transition will run smoothly, but please do bear with me as I'm not the most technical bug on the planet.  Anyway, the next day or two will see the change brought into full effect along with updates to my Twitter, Instagram and Bloglovin'.. and if that doesn't warrant a slice of celebratory cake, I don't know what does!

With love,

Gabrielle x

Hotel Wishlist: Le Royal Monceau, Raffles Paris

Entrance - All photos taken from the Le Royal Monceau website
On the first day of this month, I started a new series on A Glass Of Ice titled 'Hotel Wishlist' and launched the concept with The Rubens at the Palace, a sumptuous hotel based in London.  I've spent some time since then debating where to explore next with regard to showcasing a hotel I would love to visit, however it wasn't long before a hotel was pushed right underneath my nose.  Whilst on Twitter, I noticed paparazzi photos of Kim Kardashian emerging from a luxurious-looking hotel during Paris Fashion Week and after a little bit of research, discovered this hotel went by the name of Le Royal Monceau.

Daniel Wellington: Classy Sheffield

You can tell a lot about a person by their shoes, but I've found a quick look at a person's wrist does the job just as easily!  My go-to watch for the past year has been gold (gold strap, gold case), which is fine but what happens on occasions when I'm looking for more versatility?  Thankfully, my dilemma was solved when minimalistic watch-brand Daniel Wellington got in contact to send one of their classic watches my way.  It took just two minutes to browse the women's category on their website before settling on the Daniel Wellington Classy Sheffield c/o; classy by name, classy by nature.

NueVue Canvas iPad Mini Case

If you asked me to name someone who hates chocolate, I couldn't do it, but I could say for certain that my iPad must hate the stuff with a passion.. along with every other food that comes into contact with my fingers.  Thankfully, that's where NueVue step in with their self-cleaning gadget cases!  It was only when the company got in contact that I thought to check the screen of my iPad Mini, so I removed it from its current case and stared long and hard at it until I felt sufficiently guilty - there were smudges, so many smudges.

Not only does the NueVue Canvas iPad Mini Case do the hard work for you by cleaning itself (read on to discover the science behind that), it also does everyone a favour by looking nice as well.  This canvas version is available in Aqua Green, Coral Pink and Light Purple and as you can tell from the photos, I opted for the latter - with Spring being pretty much upon us, I figured it was time for a soft injection of colour!

Hotel Wishlist: The Rubens at the Palace

(all photos taken from the hotel's website)
There are so many beautiful hotels around the world and it would be impossible to visit them all, but that's not to say I can't at least attempt to cover a decent slice of those that have caught my eye on A Glass Of Ice!  On this cosy Sunday afternoon, it dawned on me I could share my latest aesthetically-pleasing hotel finds via a series of occasional blog posts under the umbrella of 'Hotel Wishlist' and there could be no better start than with the incredible Rubens At The Palace hotel.  Located on London's Buckingham Palace Road, the majestic 4-star luxury hotel is opposite Buckingham Palace and is just a short walk away from Westminster Abbey.  The hotel claims to exhibit a 'traditional elegance' that blends seamlessly with the latest modern amenities and if the TripAdvisor reviews are anything to go by, I'd say that's accurate!
