Jessica Nails: Divine Pine

As intensely as I want to be painting my nails all kind of bright and beautiful pastel shades, the weather keeps telling me to stop jumping the gun.  It may be March, but the cold and rainy scene outdoors says otherwise and I have the goosebumps to prove it!  It's not all bad though, the elongated winter season has enabled me to pull out one of my favourite nail polishes, Jessica Nails in Divine Pine and without my nails looking seasonally inappropriate (that's a thing, trust me).

Positives

Very, very glossy

Impressively fast drying time

Looking like you could single-handedly take down an army of spiders without flinching

Negatives

Can appear black in certain lighting

Begins chipping after a few days

As with all nail polishes (particularly dark ones) a base coat is absolutely vital and speaking from experience, I wouldn't leave a shade as dark as this on for too long because of it.  With regard to Divine Pine, I really do love this vampy green and I think it works really well with nails that have been allowed to grow out to a longer length.  However, if you're looking for a striking green shade but don't want to go as extreme as Divine Pine, then Jessica Nails' A Night At The Opera might be the shade for you!

With love,

Gabrielle x

  1. There's something quite elegant about dark nails especially during the chillier months. This is a lovely shade on you Gabrielle and I like how it appears to have just a hint of iridescence in the last pic.. perhaps from the light.

  7. I can see the dark emerald green hue in the last picture, Gabrielle and yes, it does appeared black in the first picture. I can't remember when was the last time I painted my fingernails, I think it was back in Christmas last year. LOL! It's just impossible to sit and wait for my nails to dry especially when I have a crying 10 months old tugging at my leg.

I love that shade on your nails, especially how it does look black when pointed in different directions or with the absence of light. It's like a little mind trick to a passerby eyes hehehe! I have something similar in a navy that does this, it's one of the reasons why I love it so much.

  30. NO WAY ARE THOSE YOUR NAILS, omg they're so perfect - mine are just crappy little stubbly things >< How do you abstain from biting at them? I've recently started doing it again and now my nails look short and unpaintable.

Also, I really like dark nail polish, it really brings something to an outfit, you know?

I've never tried this brand though, but chipping is something that I dislike - due to the fact that once it starts to chip I can't help but peel the rest off, like glue on hands if you know what I mean?

  37. Just the sheer fact that the dying time of this polish is so quick makes it a total plus in my book. The biggest deal breaker for me are slow-drying polishes, because no matter how lovely they look, I am inevitably going to mess them up while waiting for them to dry!
