Ten Candle Destinations

There's little point in denying I'm a complete and utter candle fanatic, at least not when the majority of blog posts on A Glass Of Ice feature one in the background!  With that said, it would seem appropriate to list ten of the candle brands currently swirling around my mind, bedroom and shopping list.  To avoid gushing about Bahoma, I'll let the images in this post do the talking for the London-based candle and luxury fragrance destination and move on to shedding some light on ten other options.  You'll recognise some of the featured names and some will no doubt be new introductions, either way, if you're also a candle fanatic then this list will be some sort of fragrant, waxy heaven..

*

Pecksniff's - After being introduced to the brand at the Thistle Brighton Hotel last year via the selection of body lotions in the hotel room, I visited their website and found they also produce very reasonably priced candles  (suggestion: Black Oak & Cedar Medium Candle)

Parks London - Undoubtedly my favourite destination for candle shopping, Parks London candles consist of 100% certified vegan ingredients from renewable sources.  The variety of fragrances on offer is absolutely incredible and goes some way in explaining why I continuously purchase from their Aromatherapy Candle range  (suggestion: 'Olibanum' Frankincense Candle)

Laura Ashley - Quite frankly, I have no idea how many lovely candles they may or may not provide, for I was stopped in my tracks by the beautiful Emma Candle.  Sadly, it is no longer for sale, however other products in the range are still available  (suggestion: Emma Room Diffuser)

Jo Malone - No surprise there, it's become a household name with regard to fragrances and that includes candles!  Their website is worth visiting purely for the mesmerising flickering flames.  Talk about enticing..  (suggestion: English Pear & Freesia Travel Candle)

Acqua di Parma - If you're stepping up your candle game, this is a destination to explore.  Admittedly, you'd probably have to trade your left arm for just one of the luxurious candles, but perhaps you can justify being one limb down in return for 60 hours worth of rosebud-encrusted wax burning time?  So long as you don't trade your nose, you could still probably just about justify the purchase  (suggestion: Rose Buds Candle)

Molton Brown - In my opinion, these scented candles make wonderful gifts; with fragrances predictable of the impressive brand and sophisticated, no-fuss presentation boxes  (suggestion: Oudh Accord & Gold Single Wick Scented Candle)

Mils & Boo - This has been my most recent discovery (made via Twitter) and a welcome one!  The family-run business based in Cumbria produce candles made from pure soy wax and browsing their website saw my attention immediately dart to the 'Candle Jars' section  (suggestion: Vanilla Luxury Gift Boxed Jar)

The White Company - I only discovered this candle range after running my eyes over their website a couple of months ago.  I had been using the Flowers Bath & Shower Gel and out of sheer curiosity, searched 'Flowers' to see in what other ways I could immerse myself in the fragrance  (suggestion: Flowers Signature Candle)

JewelCandle - As far as innovative concepts go, you'd be hard-pressed to find anything more unusual than this company.  I mean, it's not everyday you find a piece of jewellery at the bottom of your candle!  (suggestion: True Love Pendant Classic Edition Candle)

Penhaligon's - Presentation really is everything and never more so than with candles.  The iconic British perfume house is held in high regard and for reasons that are both visible as well as aromatic (suggestion: Blenheim Bouquet Classic Candle)

  1. I've become a real candle fan in the past year so this post was of great interest to me. I've heard of most of these but Mills & Boo and The White Company are new to me. I really love how lighting a candle can transform the entire mood of any space.

  3. I have been more interested in candles ever since moving to Canada so this is a great post for me. The one that I really want to try is Jo Malone candles. I know it's on the pricier side but I think it'll be worth it.

  27. I always loved candles but only for decorating and not for "using" them. I've already tried to make my own candles for X-mas, Easter, someone's B-day but I don't think I would be successful so I decided to BUY beautiful and fragrant candles! This post was useful for me! Thank you very much, I love your blog!
