Late last week I braved the Bank Holiday crowds to pick up a few small things. Although my main intention was to shoot out, indulge in an impossibly large slice of chocolate cake and return home with Paperchase mini cards and envelopes for the winners of the Lipsy London cosmetic palette giveaway (as can be seen on my Instagram), there was very little chance of making it back to my car without something catching my eye. Sure enough, it wasn't long before I was having the gorgeously feminine YSL Rouge Pur Couture Lipstick applied to my lips in Beige Tribute (10)..
The Rouge Pur Couture lipstick collection by YSL is inspired by Monsieur Saint Laurent's iconic colour palette; red, fuchsia and orange. I've got to admit there were plenty of shades on offer that had me reaching out, however once I had wrapped my head around the fact I'd failed to make it back to my car without flocking to something shiny, I was determined to find a nude shade. Why? Because it's Spring, that's why. The sky is lighter, clothing is lighter and makeup tends to be lighter too.
I adore a bold lip, but there's something undeniably chic about a nude lip that doesn't look as though it has to try hard to impress. There's beauty in (supposed) nonchalance, I guess. In the back of your mind, you're able to convince yourself that you woke up like that and you didn't really spend five minutes applying and perfecting your lipstick in the mirror.

Overall, I'm really impressed with the YSL Rouge Pur Couture in Beige Tribute and if you're looking for the perfect springtime nude, this is definitely an option to explore!
