Colin Firth. That is all.
I'll admit I was tempted to leave this post with the above line only because.. well, because Colin Firth. He is undoubtedly my biggest 'actor crush' and has been ever since seeing him for the first time as Mr Darcy in the 1995 BBC television adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Needless to say, when I heard he would be starring in Kingsman: The Secret Service, I had planned almost immediately on viewing it. So, when I was contacted about bringing some attention to the upcoming Digital HD release of the film by taking part in an at-home viewing party of the DVD*, I was one hundred per cent on board! The Secret Service by Dave Gibbons and Mark Millar. The film sees the ''recruitment and training of a potential secret agent (Taron Egerton) into a secret spy organisation'' and going by online ratings, it continues to impress with many people relating it to the James Bond films. High praise indeed and i'm looking forward to forming my own opinion with regard to that! The presence of Michael Caine makes me all the more keen to watch this film as well because although his acting CV is beyond impressive, I'm still stuck in the Miss Congeniality (2000) days and loving his connection with Gracie Lou Freebush (Sandra Bullock). Ah, memories.
So, on Sunday 24th May at 6pm, there'll be a Tweet-A-Long party on Twitter that will see people live-tweeting as they view Kingsman: The Secret Service. I'm looking forward to receiving my copy of the DVD* and taking part in the party at @KingsmanUK using the hashtag #KingsmanDigitalHD - a celebration of the official release of the film on Digital HD on the 24th! I hope you'll join in too and not just because it's a fabulous excuse to work your way through a bowl of popcorn whilst calculating how many years are between you and Colin Firth..
