These photos show the colour Monarch (719) by Jessica Nails and have been taken at two different times of day to best show the colour, mid-afternoon and early evening. What I love most about the shade is undoubtedly the balance between edgy and chic. It doesn't fall under the umbrella of my usual nude and warm metallic polishes, but doesn't scream as loudly as black or heavy nail art. Another thing I've noticed is how seemingly impossible it is to clash Monarch (719) with any item of clothing - just like a heavy dose of dainty gold jewellery, it works with any look without stealing the show.
As with most nail polishes, the staying power depends entirely on whether you've applied a top coat or not. Without a decent top coat, the colour chipped fairly quickly. However, once I'd reapplied and this time with a top coat (Jessica Nails Top Priority), the colour remained perfectly on my nails for just over a week and a half.
As you'll most likely be able to tell from previous blog posts, I love changing the colour of my nails on a regular basis and so when I say Monarch (719) by Jessica Nails has shot straight to my top five favourite shades, you know I'm a fan. So, no matter your stance on grey hair chalks and the like, I'm super keen to hear your thoughts on this different form of playing with the colour!
