Out of sheer curiosity, I looked online for a list of 'special' days this month (quietly hoping for a National Stuff Your Face With Doughnuts Day) and found that the third day of this month is in fact a pretty wonderful one. Annually celebrated on 3rd July, National Compliment Your Mirror Day encourages you to stare your reflection down in a mirror and compliment whatever you find. Whether you choose to focus on your appearance or personality, it's all about strength and positivity on this day. With this in mind, today seemed like the appropriate time to blog about this beautiful Renee Cobalt Dress c/o very kindly sent to me by Bae Boutique!
My first impression of the bandage dress was a very positive one - the bold colour was drop dead gorgeous and it wasn't at all as light as a feather, letting me know straight away it had the potential to be flattering. Dress on and zip pulled up, I very quickly became aware of why bandage dresses are so popular and why Bae Boutique is rapidly growing in popularity..
A massive positive for me is how accommodating the dress is to my frame. Standing at over 5'9'', it isn't easy for me to find a dress that doesn't make me look as though I spend my nights hanging out on street corners, so the length of the Renee is a very welcome surprise! A second positive is the stylish meshing to the décolletage that not only serves as an attractive detail to the dress, but also a guaranteed flattering fit due to the absence of vertical seams on the shoulders - broad shoulders? No problem!
One of my favourite colour combinations is cobalt blue and pink, the colours are so incredibly different from one another that it's impossible for the clash not to seem beautiful. I bought these embellished-bow stilettos at Kurt Geiger last year, however proceeded to lose them and then find them, then lose them and finally find them again in time to pair with this bandage dress! Phew!
