The story of La Bohème is a fascinating one, seeing the love story of young poet Rodolfo and seamstress Mimi unfold throughout various trials and tribulations, including poverty and ill health. The timeless opera is being interpreted in a 'visually stunning and contemporary' new production by Australian director Benedict Andrews at ENO. I can absolutely envisage how impressive this opera will be and especially taking into consideration the beautiful setting of the London Coliseum.
Autumn is undoubtedly the quietest time of year in my opinion and consequently, I always catch myself booking tickets to see as many shows/operas as possible in preparation. Performances of La Bohème will be taking place from 16th October until 26th November at the London Coliseum (home of English National Opera), so it makes the perfect Autumnal viewing. Speaking of which, if your partner is complaining about spending all of your nights together watching reality TV on the sofa, book tickets to see this! Or alternatively, ditch them and invite me along instead.. either is good.
