Hotel Wishlist: Four Seasons Hampshire

Note: All photos have been taken from the Four Seasons website

Welcome to the eighth instalment of my Hotel Wishlist series - the never-ending list of swoon-worthy hotels dotted around the globe!  On this occasion, I'm sharing somewhere a little closer to home, the luxurious Four Seaons Hotel Hampshire, a restored historic Georgian manor house boasting beautiful views, spacious rooms and glowing online reviews.

I got talking to a friend the other day who had stayed at the Four Seasons Hampshire on a few occasions and picked her brains for what she considered to be the highlights of staying at the hotel.  In her opinion, the greatest persuasion to stay there is the location.  Now, although I find that hard to believe taking into consideration how good their afternoon tea looks, I can understand why she'd hand first prize over to the hotel's location.  It is in close proximity to London's major airports and just a 40 minute journey from Windsor, making it a countryside retreat that also allows access to tourist destinations if desired.  However, bearing in mind I live in Hampshire and so tourism wouldn't be my priority, I would suggest the greatest 'highlight' is the hotel's interior design; a running theme throughout that remains luxurious yet gentle.

As you would expect, the Four Seasons Hampshire has various dining options available, though personally I would take advantage of their 24-hour room service and enjoy dinner in the comfort of one of their antique-furnished bedrooms.  Having said that, I do sometimes worry I'm making a habit out of doing so - if you're up to date with my recent travel posts, you'll know I'm a sucker for indulging in room service breakfast in the comfort of my dressing gown!  Speaking of which, the decor of the bedroom shown below reminds me very much of my birthday stay at the Macdonald Randolph Hotel in Oxford where I enjoyed one of the most delicious breakfasts of my life (no exaggeration).
I'm surprised it's taken me this long to feature the Four Seasons Hampshire in my Hotel Wishlist series and especially as I've driven past the hotel countless times over the years!  Yep, it's a welcome addition..  anyway, now to hunt down another swoon-worthy hotel in preparation for the ninth feature!
