Claremont Landscape Garden

Claremont Landscape Garden Blog Review Do you ever find yourself craving a bit of breathing space to help revitalise your outlook?  Personally, when I catch myself dreaming of open spaces, an abundance of lush greenery and no chance of bumping shoulders with anyone, I either bat the thoughts away and continue plodding on, or leaf through piles of leaflets/brochures and pinpoint where to drive to! On this occasion, I selected the eighteenth-century Claremont Landscape Garden...

Claremont Landscape Garden Wildlife
There couldn't really have been a more pleasant greeting to the garden; after entering a fund-raising raffle at the entrance, I was met by the friendly fellow above!  If we're being honest, I'm used to having wildlife turn their back on me and waddle away, which made this moment all the better thanks to his undying patience (thanks pal!).  After waving goodbye to my new feathered friend, I looked around and noticed space.  Space, space and more space.  Funnily enough, I enjoy crowds and the sense of unanimous enjoyment they often present, however just occasionally I catch myself reaching out in hope of being left hanging.  To stretch your arms out, whistle a tune to an animal (just me?) or simply cloud-watch without anyone to see you can be very special and yes, revitalising!

Claremont Landscape Garden Lake PhotographyClaremont Landscape GardenWell there's clearly something in the air at Claremont Landscape Gardens, either that or it's the entire bag of fruit jellies I devoured beforehand at the on-site café!  I can entirely understand why the location was once a playground for princesses as well as a Dukes' retreat.  It has been described as a place to 'escape everyday life and enjoy simple pleasures' - and I couldn't have put it better myself!  Although there are various attractions scattered throughout the grounds (such as the large turf amphitheatre, serpentine lake, grotto and more), the main attraction through my eyes was the lake; it sat beautifully still unless a duck plunged through the surface.

Claremont Landscape GardenOne thing is for certain, I got exactly what I was hoping for at Claremont Landscape Garden - tranquility.  As you most likely know by now, I make quite a habit out of searching for beauty in any shape or form.  Beautiful locations/grounds, buildings, exhibitions, design, fashion; the list goes on and on!  However with the recent tragic events in Paris taking place, I've found I need a little more reminding than usual of how blissful and gentle the world can be.  Consider me well and truly reminded.

  2. I love this post, this place looks so calming! I, myself love to go to parks to relax, those parks in the middle of the city where people will be throwing frisbees to their dogs, play football, have picnics, read in small groups here and there, I just love walking through a park like that on a warm spring day, most calming place ever, and everything is just so peaceful and beautiful!

My husband and I both have lived in a metropolitan city for more than 15 years and we were tired of it hence we crave small town living. No high rise, jammed pack crazy traffic but just lots of green lush space. The third picture is stunning, wish I was there to see it myself.

  80. You always frequent the most beautiful spots, and this another one without exception. Your connection to nature while still being a high profile blogger in the world of technology is something truly magnificent. Keep this up. You are so down to earth (literally) and I hope this never changes (I don't think it will!)

    XOXO
