It's a Love Story...

Boohoo Valentines Nightwear Blog ... Except it's not, because I'm single this Valentine's Day.  Oh.  Though I understand I should probably be misty-eyed in front of a romantic film in a week from now, it's far more likely I'll be tucking into a box of salted caramel truffles and embracing not sharing them with anyone!  This loved-up month, Boohoo are spreading the message of feeling gorgeous regardless of your relationship status, as well as finding ways to treat yourself.  So the question is, how will I be treating myself next weekend?

Come February 14th, besides copious amounts of chocolate truffles, I'll also be watching horror films.  Why?   Because if we're really discussing ways of treating ourselves this Valentine's Day outside of candles and bubblebaths, I'll hold my hands up to intending to scare the hell out of myself with back-to-back stomach-churning films.  Ah, the irony...

Next on the agenda comes luxurious-looking nightwear/lingerie.  I reckon we've established my ever-growing love for these two by now - it only takes a quick glance at my Twitter to see as much!  So, with this in mind, I've opted for the gorgeous Emily Maxi Length Sheer Robe* by Boohoo.  There's an undeniable feeling of elegance to curling up in a floor-length night gown and this sheer robe definitely fits the brief.  I can't say it's actually floor-length on my frame as I'm quite tall, however the fit is ideal - and with a stunning draping effect!

I mean, if a mystery man wants to pop up between now and next weekend with a bunch of roses, then sure!  However otherwise, next Sunday will involve chocolate truffles, horror films and elegant nightwear for me - how about you?

With love,

Gabrielle x

  1. Gorgeous pictures Gabrielle! Next weekend will probably consist of me falling asleep in my pjs while watching reruns of Are you being served. While drinking Sparkling wine and eating my weight in chocolate. We never really do much for Valentines day.

  16. Love this dress and there isn't anything wrong with being single for Vday! Better than being in a relationship that is not going well if you ask me! (Not saying all people that are dating are in bad relationships, but sometimes people stay in bad ones just because they think it's better than being single. Oh how wrong they are!)

  17. Im married with kids... doesn't mean I will be celebrating Valentines day. Haha - my darlig hubster isn't that romantic and has planned an outing with some mates next weekend... It a good thing we are going to London the weekend after to put it like that. Haha. :-) But horrormovies? I hav always wondered how anyone like watching something that scares them..? I had to watch Hitchcocks Psycho for a filmhistory class I took at University... I slept with the light on for a fortnight after - haha :-) Maybe Im just overly jittery in life :-D Haha

  18. Loving your plans, hon. Truffles and relaxing time in on the V.Day weekend sound absolutely amazing. Not a big scary movies fan but admire your bravery lol.
I have my Valentine (and happily married to him) but we are not celebrating Valentine's Day :) Honestly, I don't get the idea of being "romantic" that one weekend per year. We are doing amazing things together and making it special every weekend so V.Day is nothing different. Anyway, you look gorgeous, Gabrielle. It's hard to beat a beautiful piece of lingerie/nightwear.
Hope your weekend is going great!

I can't say that it's one of my favorite days because I don't care for how commercialized it's become. My husband and I usually order in sushi and hang out at home though this year I'm entertaining attending a fashion week party with him instead :)

  77. A GREAT post :)

I think your pamper session here sounds fantastic! Your beautiful BooHoo gown is so stunning and those black killer heels are very daring indeed they look great! I love the black on black look here.

With Valentine's Day I find it can always be quite a bit of a fuss and a stress for many, as there is so much hype about it. If you do have a loved one or a date, it's so much better to not stress on a day which is meant to be special.

I have a partner however we actually prefer to spend Valentine's Day the day after, because everywhere is always so busy and crammed from past experiences. Some evenings have been nice of course, but 99 percent of the time it's chaotic in most places.

Wonderful if you find a place which isn't over crowded of course :)

This Valentine's I think we may spend the Sunday watching Netflix and getting a takeaway, or simply cooking in. If we do find somewhere to eat it'll be a last minute decision, however I honestly think I'll probably choose a Monday meal out instead!

    That's just me however ;)

A great read and enjoy your horror film watching.
