The Beaumont Hotel

The Beaumont room keysThe month of January ended on a high for me after being invited to stay at The Beaumont as the hotel's guest.  I've been admiring the luxurious five-star Mayfair hotel for a while now - a curiosity that resulted in featuring it in my ongoing Hotel Wishlist series as the thirteenth addition.  After staying the night, I can say what is for certain; The Beaumont is a spectacularly special hotel and one that guarantees a hotel experience never to be forgotten!
 The Beaumont guest arrival
The Beaumont Hotel Superior Room
The Beaumont Hotel Superior RoomAfter a quick journey into London, I arrived at the hotel with a heavy dose of excitement and equally heavy suitcase in hand - though the latter was all of just a few seconds!  After being helped out of the car, staff went about taking my heavy bags, with which I was reunited a little later in my room.  Before I'd even opened my mouth, I was addressed personally by name and welcomed to The Beaumont, an elegant destination located on a quiet garden square close to the luxury shops and galleries of Mayfair.  It was then I quickly grasped why the hotel is praised for being based on the 'classic values of a golden age of personalised hospitality'.

A simple glance at the entrance lobby revealed from the very beginning the intentional Art Deco inspiration behind the 2014 hotel - speaking as someone who feels at home in the 1930s Art Deco scenes set in Agatha Christie's Poirot, I was in heaven!

The Beaumont Hotel Superior RoomAfter arriving a little earlier than planned, warm drinks were enjoyed in The American Bar.  The occasion served as the perfect opportunity to experience an area described by Tatler to be ''The most handsome, most civilised bar to have opened in London in the past year'' and that yet ''feels as though it's been here forever.''  Well, I'm unlikely to put it any better than one of Britain's most popular glossy magazines and so instead, I'll nod furiously in agreement!  I would have loved to have photographed the area, however I can appreciate there's nothing quite like having someone's DSLR knock the drink out of your hands and so instead, I'll point you in the direction of the hotel's website.

The Beaumont Hotel Blog Review
The Beaumont London macarons
The Beaumont London macarons
The Beaumont London macarons goldAll of the tasty treats shown above were found in the lavish Superior Room ready to be enjoyed - bar the handful of dice, unless you can explain why you're coughing up numbers.  I can't imagine there's anything so special as arriving at a destination and being met by chocolate macarons topped with edible gold leaf, balanced on a silver tray.  I'll no doubt sound like a broken record as I express my love for something chocolate-based, however these macarons really were the best I've ever tasted in my life.  Really.  The drawer of Beaumont-branded snacks was also an unexpected delight, particularly as my sweet tooth usually sees me creating my own - no DIY jobs needed here then!

Jacqueeson Champagne 738
Jacquesson champagne 738After devouring the chocolate macarons, I spotted the kindly gifted bottle of Jacquesson Champagne 738 on the side, complete with personal message from Jeremy King (one half of the duo behind The Beaumont, alongside Chris Corbin). You'll no doubt recognise the names when combined as Corbin & King, a partnership in business for over thirty years and one resulting in restaurants such as The Wolseley and The Delaunay.  The message included encouraging words with regard to wishes coming true - and along with it being inspiring, it was also entirely relevant as staying at The Beaumont was a total dream!

Marble bathroom The Beaumont London
Mosaic floor bathroom The Beaumont Londonmarble bath at the beaumont hotelI think I speak for everyone when I deliver an enthusiastic 'wow' to the room's spacious bathroom, as shown above. Along with beautifully-scented toiletries and marble surfaces, the patterned mosaic tiles boasted underfloor heating.  Mmm..

bedside reading letters of note hotelI can honestly say my stay at The Beaumont was flawless from beginning to end - something I hadn't realised was attainable until now!  There's so much to explore and indulge in; the perfect location for heading back to after a busy day of visiting cafés and museums, or equally the ideal place to spend a romantic weekend away.  Speaking of which, considering Valentine's Day is just around the corner, it might be an idea to 'accidentally' leave this page up on your screen ready for your partner to find...

Psst!  The Beaumont's vintage Daimler is available on a complementary basis for the use of hotel guests for drop-offs within Mayfair.  Quick trip to Agent Provocateur?!
