The question is, at what point do we allow the linen pieces from our wardrobes to start making appearances? Throughout the four seasons, most materials are fairly content with being adjusted to suit the weather/occasion, however I'm not convinced the same can be said for linen. The cloth-woven material has something undeniably fresh about it, to the extent of it seeming only 'appropriate' once the sun is shining and the gloves have been stored away. With this in mind, I'm (definitely) jumping the gun by a month or so, but I can't wait any longer - I'm bringing out the linen!

I have fond childhood memories of my mum collecting me from school (often with a cooler box of ice creams) in her linen dresses, something that would indicate the 'beginning' of summer. With this in mind, it's no surprise as to why the material has positive connotations for me! I picked up this drawstring-waist white jacket while in France quite some time ago and yet never got around to wearing it. It may not be warm enough to wear it right now, certainly not when the sun chooses to hide behind the clouds, but as the warmer springtime mornings make more regular appearances - I'm ready and waiting, armed with linen!
Fingers crossed I'm not the only one who sees linen in such a warm light; I adore the feel of it against my skin and most importantly, the seasons it represents! So tell me, do any materials have the same effect on you?
