Christmas Gift Guide For Men

Blog Christmas gift guide for men 2016I'll hold my hands up and say I've never found it easy shopping for men.  Ever.  However, this year I've kicked myself into action a little earlier than usual by looking for gift inspiration here, there and everywhere for the past few weeks.  So, if you don't fancy spending an entire weekend hopping from site to site, run your eye over my Christmas gift guide for men and cherry-pick gifts for the guys in your life.  Most of the options make for ideal stocking fillers, with the exception of a couple of larger treats perfect for popping underneath the Christmas tree...
Purple Sloane Stationery notebookSloane Stationery Pocket Notebook c/o Amara - For the busy bee in your life!  Notebooks make brilliant gifts for most people, for with so many options around it's easy to personalise the present to suit the recipient.  Amara do a fabulous range of luxury notebooks, though if you're wondering what to get the man who's got everything (notebooks included), be sure to check out their range of Sloane Stationery designs - World Domination, anyone?
Dark chocolate gold leaf by Charbonnel et WalkerCharbonnel et Walker Gold Leaf Chocolate Truffles - When it comes to the festive season there's a lot to be said for handing over a well-presented box of confectionary.  If in doubt, opt for truffles.  Better yet, opt for a gold box of dark chocolate ganaches finished with pieces of edible gold leaf.  Mmm...

Whisky Marmalade Quintet - With my dad having a soft spot for whisky, I've had to become a little more innovative over the years so as to surprise him!  If you're tired of handing over a bottle, consider gifting a box of whisky fudge, or perhaps these little jars of whisky marmalade (available at Lakeland).
JORD Men's Frankie Watch c/o JORD Wooden Watches - A quick search online will reveal a ton of watch options at a range of prices, however if you're looking for something a little more unusual, JORD watches are rapidly growing in popularity right now.  This classic hand-finished dark sandalwood version is powered by Swiss movement and comes in the brand's signature box (side note: it smells delicious) with a handy pull-out drawer.  The Frankie series is available in seven face colours, including this striking emerald green.
Blue socks by Henry J SocksHenry J Socks c/o - You may recognise this name from my list of 15 UK Lifestyle Subscription Boxes, a brand determined to 'bring the soul back into your shoes'.  Henry J Socks offer a monthly subscription service that deliver options like these bright blue socks straight to your door.  So, if you're looking for a gift that keeps on giving...
Christmas soap in a tin by Scottish fine soapsThe Scottish Fine Soap Company Soap In A Tin - If you've been set a pretty tight Secret Santa budget and wondering how to avoid ending up buying a box of Celebrations, this is your solution.  The Scottish Fine Soap Company have more 'Soap in a Tin' options than you can shake a stick at, including four festive options available: Gingerbread, Cranberry, Spiced Apple and Winter Pine.
Men's Super Buffer by SpongelléSpongellé Men's Body Wash Infused Buffer c/o Gerrard International - This has been one of my favourite discoveries while hunting down gift options for men.  Spongellé body buffers are designed to be a one-step fix for your bathing ritual: scrub, cleanse and hydrate (the unique surface changes from exfoliating to super soft).  Each buffer lasts 20+ washes and the Verbena Absolute scent is amaaaazing.
Yankee Candle gift box set for Christmas
Christmas candle gift box by Yankee Candle 2016Yankee Candle Gift: The Christmas Edition - After reminiscing about Christmas memories with some help from Yankee Candle at Debenhams, I was reminded of how gorgeous the festive scents were by the brand.  A quick search later revealed this fabulous Yankee Candle gift set at Boots, comprising 1 medium jar, 1 small jar, 4 votives and 2 packs of tea lights.  It's the ultimate gift for the candle-loving man in your life!

Barbour Lambswool Gloves - Is it even Christmas without someone unwrapping a pair of gloves?  These simple, no-fuss (and 7 gauge knitted lambswool) gloves are guaranteed to go down well.  They're also available in olive and black.
Acqua di Parma unisex colonia intensa gift setAcqua di Parma Colonia Intensa Gift Set - Designed for the 'confident and decisive' man, Colonia Intensa combines woody-leather notes.  It's undoubtedly one of the most attractive scents I've ever come across.  If you're in the mood for spoiling, this zesty yellow hat box contains 100ml Eau de Cologne, Shower Gel & Shampoo 75ml and Post-Shave Balm 75ml.  Available at John Lewis.
UK blogger men's christmas gift guide 2016If you're yet to start your Christmas shopping, I hope this Gift Guide for Men has been of some help.  And if you've finished your Christmas shopping, wrapped, labelled and stuck a bow on every last gift, I'm super impressed - go treat yourself to a hot chocolate with amaretto!

With love,

Gabrielle x

  2. It is indeed really difficult to shop for men! Especially dads, they tend not to care about presents that much so it doesn't help haha. I tend to get clothing for mine, as he never shops for himself so I'm here to make sure he gets some new and different items of clothing once in a while. The whiskey marmelade is such a good idea, it'll definitely surprise you dad! I'd say books are also a safe bet for those who love reading! I've just ordered a 1930s book for my boyfriend from an antiques dealer, as I really wanted something really unique and personal.

  4. This came at the perfect time! It's been a bit harder to come up with a nice gift for my guy this year but you came up with a great variety of gifts. We actually spent like 20 mins in the candle isle last night because he wanted to smell all the different candle scents so I think he'd love that.

  13. I agree, shopping for men is hard because I feel like if they want something, they would've already gotten it! Love the Barbour gloves, wish that brand was available in Canada! Jord watches are also a great idea!

  15. I feel the exact same way. They're so hard to buy for and they never give you proper clues or inclinations as to what they might be lusting over. I created a similar list on my blog myself lol. I should have incorporated chocolate because who diis ant love chocolate!

  21. This is such a handy gift guide, Gabrielle! My OH (and his dad!) are the most fussiest of people to buy for. Asking them what they want is a headache as they don't know what they want themselves, haha! I like the idea of giving the Yankee Cadle set, also the fancy soap!

  34. You did quite an impressive job at finding all these little gems, Gabriella! I totally agree that shopping for men is harder than shopping for girls. But your selection of gifts and stock fillers covers many types of men. I particularly loved the Spongellé Men's Body Wash Infused Buffer, the Sloane Stationery Pocket Notebook and the Whisky Marmalade Quintet. Yet, each and every one of your suggestions is great. <3 Thank you!

  37. Wow, girlie, you've really got some awesome picks here, many I know my husband would love, especially the pocket notebook and cologne. I know better than to try and gift him with chocolates because we'd both know I'd be the one to devour them, haha; I'd defiantly gift that to one of the other men in our family for safe keeping and fun enjoyment, haha! Thanks so much for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have the best week ahead!

  42. I've definitely noticed that Jord watches are really rising in popularity these days. I definitely think that they look gorgeous, and being made of wood really adds this rustic look to it. Awesome gift guide! I always have trouble finding the perfect gifts.

  43. I see your point here. Shopping for men was never easy for me too. Sometimes we're lucky and they have a hobby of some sort or something we know they would love. For example, I bought vintage comic books for my brother and husband one Christmas. They are not difficult to find if you know where to look and I know my way around bookstores if anything! I think it is always good to think about what they like and start there... think about their interests...Aviation? Buy book about planes.

That whiskey marmalade idea for your dad is so fresh, I love it. It is both personal and fun gift idea. I pretty much like everything from that list. Jordi wood watches are gorgeous...that's always a good idea. Those socks are both a practical and a stylish gift.... You can't go wrong with candles either...men love nice scents too!
