Luxurious Secret Santa Gift Guide | John Lewis

Luxury Secret Santa Gift Ideas in the UKI've waited months and months and months for this, but the wait is finally over - we can talk about Christmas!!  Between decorations appearing in shop windows and the return of the Christmas movie and music channels, I'm more than ready to dive headfirst into the festive season.  Advanced warning: it's only going to get more intense.  To kickstart the most wonderful time of year (sorry), I've been listening to more Mariah Carey than my ears can handle (quick question: Oh Santa! or All I Want For Christmas Is You?), planning party outfits and... playing Secret Santa with John Lewis!  Alongside the gorgeous gifts picked for me by Sleek-Chic, I've put together a luxurious edit of Secret Santa gift suggestions, all of which are available to shop at John Lewis this festive season - enjoy!

Needless to say, budgets can vary massively at Christmas depending on who you're shopping for.  When it comes to Secret Santa, the thrill can be found in gifting small items at affordable prices (check out John Lewis' edit of Secret Santa gifts), but what about if you're looking to go a step further in search of something a little more luxurious?  Nicole at Sleek-Chic did a fabulous job at cherry-picking gifts for me from John Lewis (thanks girl!); it literally feels as though she stepped into my mind and read what I'd love the most.  So, if you know someone who's heart also flutters over champagne truffles, gold embellishments and Charlotte Tilbury palettes - read on!

F O O D

Charbonnel et Walker is one of my all-time favourite chocolatiers, thanks to both the gorgeous packaging and delicious contents.  Yes to chocolate that tastes as good as it smells and vice versa!  Tons of tasty Charbonnel et Walker treats would make great gifts, particularly their Milk and Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Truffles, or Rose & Violet Creams.  Ahem, if you're a guy reading this and wanting to make a good impression with your Secret Santa (ooooh), choose a box of Charbonnel et Walker - the Pink Marc de Champagne Truffles featured in this post are also available in a romantic heart-shaped box.  You're welcome!

Perfect for: the chocolate-obsessive who can taste the difference

Be still my beating heart.  Seriously, swoon.  Charlotte Tilbury's Instant Look In A Palette: Smokey Eye is an exclusive to John Lewis and is just as dreamy as it looks.  Coming in at just under £50, it fits perfectly into the luxurious Secret Santa category for when your budget is that little bit higher - because who doesn't dream of unwrapping Charlotte Tilbury treats?!  The palette also comes in a Beauty Glow version,  though I'm pretty sure either palette would win Secret Santa Gift of The Year Award!

Perfect for: the beauty blogger with fab taste but limited time

Festive-themed gifts are a great route for exploring for when it comes to playing Secret Santa; even better when they're also really, really pretty.  This Wild & Wolf Woodland Folklore Stag Pen will undoubtedly be coming along for the wild journey of writing my Christmas cards this year (fuelled by hot chocolate and amaretto).  Come to think of it, stationery is a brilliant catch-all, everyone writes something, somewhere at some time!

Perfect for: the list-maker who needs ALL the pens

So they're not into stationery, beauty or food?  You've got yourself a very strange recipient.  Refuse to gift them.  Alternatively, you could persevere and pick up something different, I guess.  The Gift Section over at John Lewis is divided into helpful categories, including Luxury Gifts for Women.  Keeping our generous budget in mind, there are countless items I can see making fabulous gifts.  More specifically, a few standout options under £50?  Tom Dixon's Gold Quill Bookmark, the perfectly designed Water Bottle by Ted Baker and Katie Loxton's All That Glitters Jewellery Box (heading for my Christmas list!).

Perfect for: the person who's got everything

UK Luxury Secret Santa Gift Suggestions Blog
Damn, John Lewis make gift-giving easy.  But hey, if you're still not convinced your recipient will love your gift, distract them with gorgeous wrapping paper!  I'll be picking up more rolls of Vivid's Winter Palace gold-on-gunmetal wrapping paper, for sure.  Or perhaps go a little more festive with the green and gold version, Into The Woods.  Hmm, decisions, decisions.  Both are available from John Lewis, made from recycled cotton and screen printed with gold ink, glitter highlights and hand crushed gold foil.  Dreamy.

So, also crushing haaaard on Charlotte Tilbury?  Drooling over the champagne truffles?  Let me know in the comments below whether anything from this Luxury Secret Santa gift guide has caught your eye!

With love,

Gabrielle x

  1. Omg I'm so excited too!! I have to confess I couldn't wait no more and I started listening to Mariah Carey in October haha. Oh! And I also bought a cute snow globe from Harrods last month too, lol, I've got issues.
Great gift guide as always, Gabrielle. The champagne truffles would be an exquisite gift for anyone, I completely loved them. And of course being the girly girl that I am, I'm dying for the Charlotte Tilbury palette <3

  37. OmG, Gabrielle, I'm a huge fan of Christmas period too!!!
Even if here in Rome the weather is almost never very freezing, I really don't like winter, except for Christmas Holidays and everything before (and the white week, ok)! For me this period should last at least a couple of months; and then...spring! ^^
Anyway I'm in love with everything here! expecially that super lovely Chrlotte Tillbury palette!
    have a lovely week end!

  39. All I Want For Christmas Is You is definitely my number one Christmas song haha! I'm ridiculously excited and I've have Christmas songs stuck in my head all day today, which to me is a good thing - although it might be a nightmare for others!
Stationery is always a great thing to give as a present, because you can make it very personal, leave a little note, sign the first page of a notebook... it always feels a bit special!

  45. Oh I am not really a fan of christmas myself because everyone seems to get so stressed and angry. I could do without Christmas... Thing is I like the presents and the time off work. So I suppose I like the perks of Christmas. I was given some of those truffles from Burberry last time I was there - they are really tasty.
You present wrapping is just divine.
