Candles - Waitrose
I'm not sure when it happened, but at some point I decided everything looks better when flowers are involved. With this in mind, I can't seem to go anywhere without returning with freshly cut flowers - my most recent discovery being gladioli; they never appealed to me before, and yet now they seem like the most beautiful thing on Earth! Another discovery of late has been gift and homeware brand Sass & Belle. I've seen various sweet accessories by Sass & Belle over recent years, however this is the first time I've explored their innovative items. The trio of pastel coloured suitcases shown in this post are made of sturdy cardboard and fit inside one another - like a Russian doll. Anything pastel coloured is good in my book (note the candles), and so these suitcases will no doubt be used on many future occasions; from idyllic picnic setups, to hiding bits-and-bobs before displaying on shelves.
Psst! You can save 15% off when you spend over £20 on Sass & Belle with the code gabrielle (until 31st August)
Dress - Monsoon
Belt - Mulberry
Necklace - Estella Bartlett Rose Gold Unicorn
The current heatwave seems to apply to more than just a couple of countries - and so I hope you're all enjoying the warmth! Oh and thanks a million for all of your sweet birthday wishes over this past week; keep your eyes peeled for a 'Birthday in Bruges' travel diary coming soon!
Update: literally since posting this, the weather has broken and it's raining. Ha! Shall we laugh or cry?!
With love,
Gabrielle x

Those pastel suitcases are really cute! I'm glad you're enjoying the last few bursts of summer! The weather will probably go back and forth for all of September and a chunk of October for me before it finally settles down so I have a bit longer to go. Love your necklace too!

This is such a visually appealing post Gabrielle - I love the floaty, pastel colours here and the print on your dress is just gorgeous, and suits you beautifully! I am loving this final burst of sunshine we're getting in the UK at the moment, and I'm hoping it lasts for a couple of weeks at least. I bet Bruges was wonderful - all of the photos I've seen are just gorgeous. LOVE your unicorn necklace, so pretty, and the gladioli are just gorgeous - they're some of my favourite flowers too. My Mum had a bunch of them in the living room a couple of weeks ago. Sass & Belle are one of my favourites too, they make such cute cases! - Tasha

ReplyDeleteI'll keep an eye on your Birthday in Bruges :)
Oh, yes I love that quote from The Potrait of A Lady! Every time I read it, I can see Isabel approaching, enchanting her uncle and first cousin with her energy....Henry James was quite right, indeed those two words are among the nicest ones in the English language. For, doesn't this phrase 'summer afteroon' make us think of ease, peace, a cup of tea or lemonade, leisure, talks, relaxing and all those wonderful things?
ReplyDeleteYou look amazingly beautiful in that dress! I love its delicate floral print. Amazing jewellerly as well...that horse pendant is so lovely. Such a pretty setting! Like from some romantic novel.
I enjoyed the warmth in the mountains this weekend, yes even 1000 meters up it was warm....I packed long sleeves and jackets but didn't wear them during the day. In Mostar it is more hot than warm:) and the temperatures are a bit extreme even for my liking ( I usually enjoy the high temperatures).
