Of all the trends, anything tailored tends to get my vote and so needless to say this winter's trend of styling military coats has put a smile on my face! On one of my (far too frequent) visits to a Zara store, I spotted this khaki gem from afar and knew instantly I'd be buying it. It has all the markings of a gorgeous military coat: double-breasted design, shoulder tabs and embossed brass buttons. The length is perfect for keeping warm without covering all, keeping in mind I'm over 5'9. However, I've definitely been bitten by the military-trend bug (again) and also plan on picking up a full-length version at some point!
Keeping in tune with the trend's nonchalance, I've opted for mostly black accessories to allow the attention to fall on the khaki coat, with just a peek of black denim and a white blouse (see it styled for summer). There are so many ways of styling military coats for this fresh, crisp new weather, though some of my favourite options include knee high boots and killer accessories; think russian hats, fierce chokers and designer handbags. Speaking of which, I've got my eye on this studded Valentino bag and I can't help but think it would complete this look?! Oh God someone hide my purse...
I'm pretty confident this trend won't be going away anytime soon, I mean can you even remember a winter when military coats weren't being talked about? No complaints here, that's for sure. Oh and before I go, you may have noticed I've slipped into a more regular blogging schedule? Well, you can now expect to find fresh new posts on A Glass Of Ice (mostly) every other day!
With love,
Gabrielle x
I need one of these coats in my life!! I need to go winter coat shopping asap.

Military coats are the best! I spotted a double-breasted navy military coat in Mango that I really want to get for this winter. This Zara coat is gorgeous, khaki really suits you - I think it's your hair :)
ReplyDeleteI love how you styled it as well, all black accessories were a great idea. This is the perfect autumn/winter look!

Cute winter coats are my favorite! Ever since I moved up north last year, I think that I've added at least 4 new coats into my closet. Love yours too!

I'm totally with you, I bought loads of pretty dresses and tops last year, only for them to be hidden away by my one main coat... even if it was a statement coat. I love this military number though, stunning!

I did the same thing, and I desperately need to add to my coat collection this year. Military coats are the best, and yours is no exception. This is such an effortlessly cool look, I love it!

Gabrielle! I always love your outfits and this one is no exception! I absolutely adore the coat and the boots! I have a question for you, how would you put together an outfit for freezing cold weather (snowy). I kinda need your advice!

Hey Ana, thanks so much for your kind words :) Hmm, I agree styling becomes tricky when it snows! I would suggest knee high boots (with grip so you're not sliding all over the place) and jeans tucked into them, paired with a thermal vest, chunky roll-neck jumper and feather-down jacket on top. You could then play around with accessories to make the outfit more stylish - like double pom-pom hats!

You look gorgeous!!! Love your jacket!!
ReplyDeleteIt's starting to get cold in my country so I would definitely need one of these soon too xD

ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day in that beautiful city of yours :-)
This is such a beautiful coat, girlie! I love the khaki color and the details on the buttons, it really reinforces the military feel; not all of them have the details on the buttons! I'm in desperate need of a coat and you're the second person I've seen sporing a beautiful coat from Zara, I'll have to check them out! Thanks so much for sharing, beautiful, and I hope you have the most amazing weekend ahead!

yes to structure apparels for me too, Gabrielle. I think this military coat fits you perfectly!! nice choice and yes, like you, I lost count of how many times I step foot into a ZARA store each time I head to a shopping mall, I don't know why, I just love their stuff there. I have such a weak spot for that place *_^
ReplyDeleteI love your look and that boot and handbag. Even more crushing over that watch. Lovely visuals as always, for me to catch a glimpse of the details like the buttons and all. Looks like it was a lovely day after all.
Nice to hear that you have slipped into a more routine schedule for posting. Keep them coming, dearie.
