Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel c/o - One word, clean. It feels as though I'm truly taking care of my skin when I use this (soap-free) gel cleanser. This was recommended by Dermalogica through my Face Mapping experience to give my chin the best chance to fight hormonal breakouts. So far, so good!
*
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant c/o - Hands down my favourite of the bunch, and I'd even go so far as to say one of my all-time favourite beauty discoveries (and not just because the powder-to-foam process is strangely satisfying). Having read countless positive reviews, I was super excited to find it was recommended for me in a bid to reduce congestion across my face. It's been a case of too much moisturiser and not enough exfoliating. From the very first use my skin has been softer - and YES I've been making everyone stroke my face to show off the results. Goodbye bumps either side of the nose!
*
Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Masque c/o - Hmm, although my skin isn't super sensitive, it's also nowhere near tough enough to deal with this product. Sadly, this wasn't a good fit for my skin and left my forehead and chin feeling uncomfortable. I would definitely suggest trying a sample of this product to test it out on your skin before purchasing
*
Dermalogica Total Eye Care spf15 c/o - The most interesting discovery through my Face Mapping Skin Analysis, was finding out my eyes were dehydrated which had resulted in dark circles and unnecessary fine lines. Since using Dermalogica's Total Eye Care, the skin underneath my eyes has undoubtedly become more comfortable and fine lines have reduced significantly. There's been a small improvement with regard to dark circles, though combined with increasing my water intake, I'm hoping a clearer result will perhaps reveal itself in a few weeks from now. I really, really wish I had known about this product before now - it's done so much for my eyes in such little time!

Seems great...greetings!
ReplyDeleteThe eye care product sounds really interesting! My eye area always becomes dehydrated so easily - this might be worth a try! Hope you have a lovely weekend.

I really want to have a Face Mapping Skin Analysis after reading about your experience. I always use the Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion and love it so I would be interested to try some other products from the brand. I'd also love to know which products I should try first so I think the Skin Analysis could really help my decide what's best to try. x
ReplyDeleteI've had a dermalogica facial before but never tried any of their products at home. How fascinating to get your skin mapped, I would love (and probably also hate when I got the results!) to try that.

Dermalogica is a pricey brand but ohh god does it work! I love all the products especially for oily/blemish prone skin and notice a huge difference after using! xx

I am not yet familiar with the brand, but I hope to try them one day. I love the approach they seem to have.

I love how Dermalogica is so professional when it comes to skincare! I love the microexfoliant, my face feels so soft after using it! I'd love to try more in the future; but *sigh* that price tag!

It's great to have an analysis of the skin. Dermalogica Total Eye Care spf15 c / o - I'd like to try. As I have extremely sensitive eyes and dehydrated since I do not use the eye contour cream (my L. Advent Calendar did not come with one). So I will ask for a sample tomorrow to test if it suits me. Thank you so much for your article. The black and white photos are sublime. Have a great week ahead, Gaby :)
ReplyDeleteI definitely think we could all do with an analysis of our skin! It's something I feel we all assume we know and slather in lotions and potions that might not actually be doing us any good! I'm not familiar with Dermalogical but I'm certainly interested after this post!
ReplyDeleteMusings & More
I bet this was such an interesting experience and I love that they tailored a bundle of their products for your skincare needs! I'm glad the Microfoliant was such a hit and the cleanser sounds fab too...I'm willing to try anything to combat the pesky chin breakouts!

I NEED THIS EYE CREAM. I tend to have a rather wacky sleep schedule, and that really shows under my eyes, so the fact that you've called it a miracle means that I should definitely 100% try this out. Need need need!!

Those sound like amazing products. I have heard of this brand but never tried them. Great review!
ReplyDeleteI have been using Dermalogica products for several years, and I love the brand. Back when I started using the brand they did not have skin mapping, so I wonder if they would recommend different products for my skin now.

I've done this before as well, it's so fun! But also kind of frightening if you're like me and your skin showed some sun damage - YIKES! Love their daily microexfoliant though, it really does wonders!

Sounds like they have a really great product line. It’s a shame that the masque didn’t work well for your skin but it’s all trial & error when it come to clear skin (& lots of water! haha) & I’m sure there’s another mask out there to suit you. Thanks for such a great review.

I love Dermalogica's products, I have a few I use. Their serum for dry skin is great and I love their toner too. Have to explore more products! Have a lovely week babe! Xx

I haven't tried Dermalogica's products yet however an old school friend has worked there for several years and uses the range herself, she has great skin!
ReplyDeleteThe eye product sounds very appealing, I've been looking for a new 'get rid of wrinkles' cream under the eyes for a while ;) Also on the hunt for a good day cream!
It's a shame the mask didn't work too well for you however the other products sound really very appealing and I must check them out.
Hope you're well lovely lady and have a wonderful week!

Face mapping sounds so interesting, I would love to try that out. I might try the exfoliating product since I think I probably have similar problems, moisturizing too much without exfoliating. I rarely exfoliate, so I should try that out. I love learning about skincare since we all have such unique skin!

I have tried Dermologica products in the past and loved it. Ugg, hormonal breakouts are the worst! The masque probably wouldn't work for me either, as i have sensitive skin. But, it's good to know that you are in love with the experience overall, especially the Microexfoliant. :) I think it's a good brand as well. xx/Madison
ReplyDeleteFASHION TALES
I'm so fascinating by this Gabrielle! I have super sensitive skin - so much so that I haven't been for facials for years because I've always had such a bad reaction to the various products that skin therapists have used. I've literally been following the same skin routine for the last 15 years which is using the 'Simple' brand products. I have noticed my skin becoming increasingly drier though and I do think I need to jazz up my facial skincare routine though. How did you find the skin analysis itself? Did they try any products on you there and then or did they just use machines? xx
ReplyDeleteGetting your skin mapped and having products recommended sounds so useful! I have used the Microfoliant before and I have to agree- its the best!!! That eyecream sounds like a total treat though :) Fantastic photos as always

It sounds like the Face Mapping process was quite revealing and it's great that you were also given a new regime to improve your skin concerns. That Daily Microfoliant was one of the first exfoliating powder cleansers I ever tried and it still remains one of my favorites. Sounds like you've gotten some positive results from it already Gabrielle :)

This is interesting! I would love to do something like this to find out what my skin type really is. I've seen in foundation as well, where they are now making custom foundations to match your face. I think custom skin care and makeup is so neat!

This surely sound great! I've read great reviews about this brand and I think its about time I give em a try. Great post, beauty. 2017 is all about my skin. Ha!

That sounds pretty neat having a skin analysis done. I like that they can target things for you. Who knew eyes could be dehydrated and that can cause dark circles and fine lines. Glad that most of the products worked so well for you.

ReplyDeleteI have definitely read numerous positive reviews about Dermalogica. It's a brand I would love to try. I love that they do skin mapping to figure out both the positives and negatives of your skin. It's the only way to target a problem. Glad some of the products worked.
