Top - Tommy Hilfiger Erin Polo Shirt | Skirt - Mango
Bag - Valentino Lock Medium | Boots - Kurt Geiger

Accessories never fail to make my heart beat that bit faster, and so by the time Autumn is in full swing I'll probably be in cardiac arrest, because this time of year lends itself to accessorising! I've kept things fairly minimal for this look, including a baker boy hat (at the price of a snack on-the-go), navy blue Valentino bag, and gorgeously dainty hamsa hand necklace from Estella Bartlett - believed to bring luck to its wearer!

What do you love most about transitional styling? Also, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the lighting for this outfit shoot, as I've been playing around with (and pulling my hair out over) Lightroom lately!
With love,
Gabrielle x
Awesome tips, I absolutely love the hats! Thanks for sharing those :)

I love your boots so much, they are fab! I usually transition with Jumpers, but I am such a nightmare I love Jumpers, wear them all autumn/winter/spring lol

I love this look on you! Cool colors really suit you well. I also love the accessories you used as well, especially the necklace.
ReplyDelete-Gretch of GG Memochou
You really suit the Baker boy hat trend, I'm a little jealous! I also love the idea of balancing out a chunky knit with a mini skirt, definitely something I'll be trying as we get into Autumn although the weather in Scotland has been a little too rainy recently! xx
ReplyDeletewww.misszarabelle.com
I always struggle with transitions because I hate having to buy things for only a month or two. Also, in Phoenix there really isn't an 'autumn' or transition phase. It's really really hot, and then boom, it's freezing haha. I really love the outfit you've put together!!
ReplyDelete-Emily www.coatandcoffee.com
It is so pretty, keep up the good work! I love the lighting, oh and the baker boy hat too. :D
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is so pretty! I really love your skirt!

I cannot believe it's almost autumn already!? Like all these back to school things are driving me crazy haha I swear summer went by too fast. I don't want to go back to school just yet.
ReplyDeleteLove that hat! I agree that this trend is such a good one. Also, I really like the photos in this post. Especially the slightly blurred one. It has almost a candid polaroid feel to it.

Loving the outfit! You're giving me this Cher vibe from Clueless! It's difficult to do a nice transition in our city with the weather out of whack!
ReplyDeleteLoved the outfit so much and it's so perfect for fall! I get cold on my arms so I'd probably add a turtle neck
ReplyDeleteCindy | www.boringclothes.com
I'm not a fan of transitioning fashion from season to season, because it seems like I can never get it right and always end up being too warm or too cold haha. This outfit is great for September, but on a cold day if I wasn't wearing any tights like you, I'd totally freeze. The wind in England can be so cold, I'm still not used to it even after living there for two years. So I'd say my top accessory for transitioning outfits would be tights - I can still wear my lighter dresses, but without getting cold legs!

Totally understand where you're coming from Julia! My advice would be to wear nude tights by Wolford, I'm wearing a pair in this post - not that anyone would be able to tell! ;)

Boots and cardigans are the best items in my wardrobe to bring my Summer outfits into Autumn. Honestly I could live forever in boots.
ReplyDeleteShireen⎜Reflection of Sanity
These tips are so practical. I always wish for the transitional seasons to be longer but it always seems like we go from hot to cold and the other way around all too quickly. Tis a shame because I think transitional wardrobes are the most fun since you can usually mix it up with a little from each season. I'm just loving the mod influence you worked into this stylish look Gabrielle!
ReplyDeleteI love the outfit! Especially those boots. x

ReplyDeleteI can't believe autumn is nearly here already but I am looking forward to wearing more cosy outfits and chunky knits. This is a great transitional outfit and I love those boots! x
ReplyDeleteI am currently sweating under the blazing summer sun in the South of France, but upon my return I know it will be time to dress according to the change in weather. For me this means hunting across the inter web for cardigans and a new pair of boots, pretty much inspired by your gorgeous outfit here.

I cannot wait for fall! I really liked this, I do not have that classy style I wish I had, but I will definetly be using some of these tips!
