Yesssss! Summer is here and it's calling for ALL the patterns to be worn outside underneath the sun. Admittedly, I'm still trying to warm to clashing prints, but in the meantime I can happily jump on board the matchy-matchy express. Right now? It's all about gingham. I can't help but associate the pattern with all things lovely. It works just as well for beautiful afternoons spent in tranquil gardens as it does summer festivals, candyfloss in hand. The print is ideal for taking from desk-to-date, as well as being downplayed for shopping stints. My point is, there are very few occasions that gingham
doesn't suit. But how about double gingham? Like I said, I'm not quite ready for clashing prints, but I
can embrace the same print in clashing colours. We've spent all winter swooning over double denim, but now it's time for you to shine in double gingham.
Do your thaaaaang, babe.

Ugh, I'm just
dying over this gingham top. There's everything to love about it: cropped design, elasticated waist, embroidery, ruffled overlay, bardot style.
Everything. I wish other colour variations were hanging prettily in my wardrobe. Speaking of which, I've started learning how to sew over the past couple of months and I'm becoming
hugely excited at the prospect of being able to (eventually) make something similar in other colours to wear! Anyway, back to the topic at hand - double gingham. There's something about matching prints and co-ord sets in general that are utterly adorable, and yet simultaneously seem to exude confidence. Honestly, about 90% of the times I've stopped someone to compliment them on their outfit, it's because of a co-ord set. Bonus points for gingham.
Okay, I've clearly made it obvious where I stand when it comes to gingham and matching prints. How about you? Do you love styling co-ord sets and/or matching patterns, or do you prefer clashing prints? Let me know in the comments below!

I am super jealous of this look right now! Normally I would say that wearing a head to toe look of one print is too much, but in this case it's far from not being perfect. I think the outfit really comes together nicely because the top and trousers are two different colours. Your top is beautiful and the bardot and embroidery details make everything so unique and fabulous! Hope you're having a great week so far :D xxx

You wear the double gingham so well. I think the different colours really make the outfit special :) I actually don't have any gingham in my wardrobe! I do like a bit of matchy matchy though :)
ReplyDeleteHope that you are having a great week so far :) I've managed to catch my first winter bug (only 2 weeks into winter, ha!) So it's a low key one here!

I am very insecure about clashing prints, I don´t think I have the refined taste to distinguish what works and what doesn´t, so I will stick to matchy matchy. But while I love Gingham, I don´t think I have a piece in my wardrobe right now.

Looking like the most gorgeous GODDESS in gingham beautiful babe! I'm absolutely hooked on this stunning summertime look :) Sooo divine!!! You are a dreamy matchmake in gingham heaven, the pairing of gingham and gingham together in just the prettiest paradise on you. I agree, gingham seems to be ultra-versatile and oh so wearable for any occasion come summer. I've got a gingham playsuit which I bought last summer and I've worn the hell out of it. It's just so stylish and comfy for any occasion! My boyf says I look like a picnic rug in it but what do boys know?! Haha! ;) The red and black variations of gingham are super divine on you too! You're looking like a flower power dream for sure. I love co-ords and matching patterns, you just can't beat 'em! You've definitely got me even more heart-eyed for gingham this summer beautiful babe! <3

Oh HEY amazing flat abs! Also, I'm obsessed with this top. Gingham makes me think of picnics, which makes me think of happiness, so YES I'll take some of that! Also, I've been dying to learn to sew for forever. My mom used to make the most gorgeous elaborate Halloween costumes for us because she was the most talented person EVER on the sewing machine and I feel obligated to somewhat follow in her footsteps haha. Can't wait to see what you dream up!
