Picture this: you're driving down a remote country lane, dipping in and out of sunshine and heading towards a grand luxury spa hotel ready to enjoy a pre-booked afternoon tea. Heavenly. Thanks to Prezzybox, an indulgent afternoon tea at Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club was on the cards earlier this week - one venue out of many from their list of luxurious afternoon tea experiences across the UK. Armed with an enveloped gift experience voucher, all that remained was to hand it over and be guided to my reserved table for two. Now, we all know how much I adore classic, traditional interiors and so many boxes were ticked on that front at the four-star hotel. It was a case of 'cake with a view' - and a rather spectacular one, complete with fountain.

Considering how vocal I've been about kindness lately, I doubt it comes as a surprise to you just how much I appreciate service with a smile. Needless to say, the smiles are always reciprocated! I was genuinely taken aback by just how lovely the staff were at Ashdown Park Hotel. You know, the kind of overwhelming loveliness that makes you want to sheepishly tug on their shirt sleeves and declare your gratitude. No? Just me? Anyway, the entire experience was seamless from beginning to end, with the afternoon tea being served within ten minutes of sitting down, complete with champagne, finger sandwiches, scones (with clotted cream and jam), sweet treats and extra confectionary. Mmm, truffles.
I've developed a real love for natural, classical (borderline romantic) decor lately, which fitted in very nicely with the hotel - having been cherrypicked by Prezzybox. The equine-themed armchairs, tassel-tied gold brocade curtains and high ceilings went a long way in making visitors feel at home. Speaking of which, Ashdown Park Hotel & Country Club has a definite sense of 'cosiness' about it; a home from home. One thing is for certain, this experience has undoubtedly piqued my curiosity about the other locations available to book via Prezzybox. Other varieties of luxurious afternoon teas include vineyard tours, champagne-fuelled experiences and plenty of other traditional, or modern locations!

Ooh, there are few things so lovely in life as an indulgent afternoon tea! As always, I'm really looking forward to hearing your thoughts on this post. Where did you enjoy your last afternoon tea? Which treat would you reach for first from this tasty spread? Let me know in the comments below!

In Germany we don't get afternoon tea for the whole year, we just get it in the period leading up to Christmas and then only in very few places, so I don't have much experience with it.

There are seriously few things I love more than afternoon tea. Ever since I was little! We have an amazing one here in Denver at the Brown Palace hotel. The last one I went to was with my mom in Vegas at the Mandarin Oriental hotel. They definitely do a great one too! I ALWAYS snag a scone first. Especially if they come out still warm. YUM. But let's be honest, by the time I'm done, there's nothing left on the plates!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently searching for an afternoon princess tea for my friend and I to take her daughter to for her 5th birthday. Gotta start the tradition early :).
