I've always adored styling table settings and never more so than when it involves Christmas! The recurring theme? Gold accents. However, for this year i've styled a luxurious table setting for Christmas with gold as the focus, rather than simply an accent colour. At this point, I'm pretty much feeling like a kid kin a sweet shop, because oh my gosh all of the gold. Gold baubles. Gold placemats. Gold candles. Swoon. If you're currently in the process of planning a table setting for this festive season and plan on wowing your guests, but can't quite decide on which route to take. Take the shiny, glittering, golden route. Trust me.
Don't worry, I'm well aware of the fine line between luxurious and tacky when it comes to styling an all-gold table setting. But thankfully, with a few key tips in mind, that dreaded line can't and won't be crossed! My first suggestion would be to opt for a table runner, rather than an entire tablecloth; it enables you to place any food you may be serving on the runner, immersed by some of your favourite golden table accessories. The next part of the process to consider is what other colour you're going to combine with your all-gold table setting. I've opted for white, although black could work just as well depending on the vibe you're looking to create for your guests.
Just like any table setting, no matter the colour scheme, height is essential to keep in mind - just make sure you can still see your friends and family across the table! And my final tip is to consider introducing a handful of different textures. The baubles I've placed on the table are a mixture of hand-painted glass and embellished, for variety. The feathers positioned across the runner fill the negative space, and also contribute yet another injection of glitter to the table setting - which looks magical once the lights have been turned down low, leaving just fairy lights to sparkle around you. And then my favourite texture; these beyond gorgeous A by Amara Metallic Acid Cowhide Placements c/o. Sold as a set of two, they inject an instant sense of luxury to a table setting with their smooth texture, as well as gold metallic flashes in the shape of speckles when hitting the light. It's safe to say these will now be treasured by me and seen often here on the blog in future!
This truly is such an exciting time of year with regard to being as creative as possible! I'd love to hear your thoughts on this luxurious gold table setting; do you like any elements in particular? Let me know in the comments below!

I am more one for golden accents and red as the main color, but I admit you managed to keep it classy indeed.

What a beautiful setup! I'm a big fan of gold accent decors but I agree that too much can look tacky, and you've done a great job of making it look so tasteful! Also these are some really helpful tips, thanks for sharing!

This is perfection :))))) x
ReplyDeleteThis table setting looks perfect! It honestly looks like something you would see in a magazine. I love all the gold details and pairing it with white was a great choice. And being mindful of how tall the decorations are is a great tip! There's nothing worse than not being able to see the person across from you haha x
