Oof, is there anything more exciting than getting your legs out?! Seriously though,
yes I was cold but I'd been trapped inside for days after constant snowfall. I wake up, the sun was shining and the snow had started melting. One thing led to another and before I knew it, the legs were out.
Don't worry, denial and optimism kept me warm. Anyway, I've always been out here playing around with textures but even
more so of late since so many gorgeous textured pieces have found their way into my wardrobe! I've said it before and i'll say it again, I'm not a huge fan of this time of year. Because of this, I'm constantly on the hunt for new ways to inject some colour and interest into daily life. The quickest way? In the way we dress. Ladies, it's time to dive into a pool of textures...

Psst! Take a peek at the other women's dresses available via Angeleye; so many chic yet affordable pieces!
One of my favourite textured pieces this season has been this vintage sheepskin jacket; ideal for throwing over pretty much any and every outfit. The beauty of sheepskin? It can look
wrecked and still gain style points. On the other end of the scale, a more recent find has been this snakeskin print tote. I literally only bought it a month ago and yet I can't seem to find it online? That's Zara for you. But I'll be sure to come back here and link it should it suddenly appear for sale again! It's the perfect size for both work and play alike; the perfect multitasker. Speaking of which, this mini dress via Angeleye is the perfect answer to so many occasions and literally my dream tweed design
(and we aaaall know how much I love tweed). It's short, ruffled and with a fitted silhouette. Need I say more?
Psst! If you love tweed as much as I do >> Why Your Wardrobe Needs Tweed | Winter Styling
So we all know of the textures we can bring into our wardrobes this season, but what about jewellery? Don't overlook the opportunity to mix metals, add layers and switch up the norm. These Karen Millen textured beauties were inspired by Egyptian treasures and go a long way in contributing to a textured look! They're also available in gold and I'll admit, I'm tempted...
Have you added any textured pieces to your wardrobe lately? Let me know in the comments below!

Ugh I can't wait for spring to arrive when I see this outfit!! Just so nice and stylish to skip the tights haha. Love the print mix in this outfit, that bag with the dress is such a good combo. Hope you're having a lovely weekend Gabrielle! Xx

You're so brave Gabrielle! I can't imagine going outside without tights at the moment haha. But this was so worth it, I adore your outfit! Literally everything about it is gorgeous. The vintage coat, the tweed dress, the touch of snake print, and the beautiful boots. You nailed it! I should really play with textures more, although I don't typically like wearing heavier materials. Let's try it out!

Ah, that dress is gorgeous! And extra points for braving the cold, I don't know if I could've managed to stay jacket-less long enough for a single picture :D
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for spring to arrive so I can add a tweed jacket (courtesy of my boyfriend's closet) to my current go-to wardrobe! xx

This dress is beautiful and somehow very you! It does fit you perfectly and I do like the heeled booties. The sheepskin jacket is gorgeous as well. You look absolutely beautiful. All in all, such a lovely winter styling. I would probably opted for tights, but I can understand how tempting a sunny day after a long period of cold weather can be.
ReplyDeleteThe location is wonderful. Beautiful photography as always...where do you always find such stunning places?

Thanks so much, Ivana! It takes quite a bit of research that's for sure haha!

That tweed dress is really pretty and I love all the different textures in this outfit! The short days of sunshine can definitely get to people, so I completely understand getting your legs out. I'd probably do the same haha. And that snakeskin print bag is lovely. Zara always seems to get rid of items on their website really quickly.

I don't know why but I've always been a bit wary of textures, probably because I'm not hugely confident with fashion. That said, I am loving that sheepskin! Question is, part of me is hoping the sun will start shining and we'll be ditching the coats!

I love your look from head to toe, so chic as always <3

Oh my goodness this dress is everything!!! I'm so excited for Spring & Summer too; I feel like I've never missed them so much as I do this winter season. At the same time, I'm trying to enjoy the cold here in California for as long as it lasts because I'll be dying of heatstroke in a few months :')

I really enjoied the warmer rays last weekend too. It seems the sun was gone for so long, feeling it on my face was a very welcome reminder that spring is coming.

Looking like a total dream goddess in all these textures beautiful Gabrielle! The mix of tweed, sheepskin and snakeskin is a magical potion of winter sass on you and you're rocking all three vibes so stunningly :) That dress is utterly to die for and your bag an absolute gem! I'm 100% with you on getting the legs out, winter sun just calls for it, right? Hehe, summer was too long ago and there's only so many times I can wear dresses with tights without wanting to scream! Looking like a true fairytale queen owning her castle! ♥︎

There's something so refreshing when the sun is shining and you can wear pieces like this even though it's cold. The jewellery works so well here. Lovely.

The texture of that mini dress is incredible and you pull it off so perfectly; you look so regal and classy! I've been trying to add more texture into my wardrobe lately but seeing as it's summer it's kind of difficult, definitely need to wait till winter to fully kick things into gear.
