Be still my beating heart. Shell jewellery evokes memories of tropical travel and time spent on beaches, but combine it with a metallic sheen and you've got yourself a very chic accessory. One thing to note is that silver doesn't seem to quite cut it; go for gold, baby. Oh, and the Cowrie shell is the ultimate shell of choice!

A trend that's here to stay. Now that we're moving towards (slightly) warmer days, it's time to ditch the wool and cashmere and instead look in the direction of silk and satin blends that will complement your outfit without resulting in a heat rash! This is a trend worth investing in, as the cost-per-wear goes down dramatically the more ways you find to wear the accessory. My advice? Wrap it around a strap of your handbag, tie a pussybow around your neck or wrap it around a low-side ponytail.

Think Clueless meets Gossip Girl. I wasn't convinced at first, but the more bloggers and models I've seen stepping out in plush and blush headbands, the more keen I am to style one. This trend is definitely an acquired taste, so try a few on while you're next out shopping before purchasing! If you do decide to take the plunge, opt for sugary, pastel shades with heavily embellished details or a plush texture.

Belt bags have had one hell of an upgrade since the original influx of designs we were introduced to last year. Kiss goodbye your nylon fave and get familiar with the new elegant designs you'll be seeing more of this Spring. Keep an eye out for chain straps, gold-tone hardware and more luxurious textures such as calf leather and silk. My absolute favourite right now is this pristine COS white leather belt bag (under £50!)

Can you believe I haven't jumped on this bandwagon yet? I know, there are no excuses. Quite possibly the most elegant shoes to bless the fashion scene, mules are here for another season. They're now adopting a less bulky form, to match the lighter and brighter weather ahead. Keep the sunnier days in mind when selecting a colour; soft and gentle colours are best, so to keep in tune with your spring/summer wardrobe

Silk and satin scarves are my kind of trend. I pretty much always loved wearing scarves in a variety of ways, so it is super fun to see scarves become THE fashion accessory. I love how you tied yours as a belt. I sometimes do that, and sometimes I tie them around my head, around a pointy tail, around my neck, around bags and etc...Possibilities are endless, aren't they? I do like the handband trend. I some DIY ones stashed somewhere, I need to find them.
ReplyDeleteYou look utterly gorgeous in that dress btw. I love the heels you paired it with just as much. Such a pretty and sexy styling!!!
Looking FAB as usual!
ReplyDeleteYou've got me sold on gold shell jewelry <3

Satin scarves are gorgeous! I'd love to get one and play around with it to style it in my hair. It makes all the difference! Shell jewellery is also beautiful, and I love the mermaid vibe it can give in the summer - I need to find a beautiful piece to add to my collection!

Beauty! You look stunning in this knit dress. I'm all for shell pieces, but I've really had to restrain myself because these feel like they might be pieces that won't stick around too long. At least not a year or two. And mules! Ahhhhh I am obsessed with them. I hated them before, and never expected I'd be drowning in them right now. I have an actual problem.

I love these tips. The printed silk scarf is always underrated but can make such an impact without you even realizing it. But the real focus here should be on how AMAZING you look in that dress, Gabrielle! Just gorgeous.

i am all in with hair bands! or big bandanas to be worn as hair strings. i also really like the gold jewels but i don't really appreciate shells style. I remember last summer in italy, they were everywhere!!

Ok the composition of these shots paired with how you did your hair and makeup with the lighting- um, incredible girl! We're going into really cold weather here now but I'm still trying to get the very last wear out of my mules that I can, I love how easy they are to wear because I can just slip them on and not think about it. I'm still loving the gold detailed jewellery too though, I'm carrying that through to what I'm wearing in winter too!
