Hold my drink. I'm too excited and I'm about to start gushing. So, there's a particular style of blouse that can usually be found on Instagram and in the hottest edits of street style. They usually involve any sort of combination of the following: puff sleeves, lace-up details, peplum waists, gathered details and square necks. This type of blouse tends to accentuate the bust and nip in the waist. Yes please and thank you. So, I'm currently in the process of building my warm weather wardrobe and I've seen one of the traits from the above list popping up time and time again in my search: square necks. They're ridiculously flattering and go a long way in helping you to achieve that milkmaid-meets-prairie and bombshell-meets-cute kind of aesthetic. Oh wow, a term really needs to be conjured up to describe this... Anyway, I've put together an edit of some of the most fabulous square neck blouses around right now this season. Happy browsing!
This beautiful beige blouse was from ASOS, though is now sadly out of stock. I know, I'm a monster. Thankfully, there are tons of very similar options around right now. I should know, I'm clicking add to basket on them. Oops... race you there! Alternatively, start scouting eBay and other fabulous online second-hand destinations to see if any have ended up there. A recent discovery of mine has been Micolet; a destination stocking everything from Zara to Ray-Ban and from Pull&Bear to Massimo Dutti. Happy browsing!

Alright so I've made my view on this style of blouse pretty clear, but how about you? Have you added this style of top to your spring wardrobe yet? Let me know in the comments below!

I love so many of the tops you linked to! I hadn't realised how popular that style was, but I had seen tops like that pop up here and these and I always think they look super pretty and feminine. They're definitely my style, whether they have a square neckline or not, I love a good puffy or bell sleeve!
ReplyDeletelittlehenrylee.net
It is such a beautiful neckline, and quite unique compared to the usual t-shirt line.

I'm really loving the pouffy shoulders on blazers in particular this season. And this top does look adorable but I'm yet to find one that would be calling my name from the shelves. xx

I don't own any squared neckline but I love them!! They can be so chic and fun to style. I prefer them with puffy sleeves to enhance the historical reference. So fun to pair with jeans or leather to contrast. Your layering of necklaces suits this style so well! Xx

That is such a cute top on you! I like square necklines but sometimes find them tricky to accessorise with - your layered necklaces are perfect! :)
ReplyDeleteHope that you are having a wonderful weekend :)
Away From The Blue
I absolutely love puffed sleeves and square necks, but I don't think I own a clothing item that has both of these features. I've been seeing blouses like the one you're rocking around and I love them because they are so feminine and romantic.
ReplyDeleteYou look absolutely gorgeous in this styling Gabrielle. The jeans and the blouse are a lovely match. Your legs look a mile long! Perfect accessories too. The layered gold necklaces look so good with that blouse.

I tend to stay away from square necklines because I feel like they emphasize my bony shoulders but after seeing how fabulous you're looking in this gorgeous blouse and outfit Gabrielle, I'm tempted to find one that works for me. It can definitely be very feminine and flattering if you find the right style.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful blouse! I love its colour too, such a shame it's out of stock. I haven't seen too many of those in the high street yet, but I will keep an eye on them - this neckline is too pretty to pass!

I'm so in love with these square neckline, but I have such a dangerously high and pronounced cleavage that I'm scared my titties will fall off haha. I really wish I could rock these blouses like you.
