Whoa. A makeup-less Gabrielle appearing on your feed! Although let it be known, thou shalt always turn thy head towards the light when shooting without thy makeup. Finally, all of those years watching Tyra on ANTM have paid off. Anyway, there's a very good reason as to why I'm baring all; I'm super keen to spread word of Panasonic's Facial Steamer with Nano-ionic technology! Since its launch, the Panasonic EH-XS01 Facial Steamer has quickly found its way onto beauty tool leaderboards. With this in mind, I set about unwrapping my new toy and putting it to good use. Makeup off, hairband on and 100% ready to absorb that moisture...
Okay, first things first: how to use the facial steamer. Beautifully simple (thank you Panasonic for not testing my patience). Open up the back, fill the small water tank, switch on the device and one minute later - steam! You need to keep your face 20cm away from the device to ensure the best and safe results. I can't even begin to tell you how soothing the steam is on your skin. Although, if you've ever put your head over a hot bowl of water with a towel draped over your head then you'll have some idea of what I'm talking about. Consider this the neater, fuss-free version of that, as a way of complementing your daily skincare routine. Depending on how long you have, there are three settings to choose from:
The question on everyone's mind right now: but how does it improve your skin? First of all, Panasonic claims a visible benefit of 'beautifully hydrated and revitalised complexion'. Having used this for a couple of weeks now, I can already vouch for this. The Facial Steamer works by opening up your pores; something I was at my wits end with around my nose area and well, problem solved! Secondly, the Panasonic EH-XS01 Facial Steamer helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles (by improving skin moisture by 130%). As well as the positive effects to the skin, there's also the added bonus of introducing a touch of relaxation to your daily routine. Personally, I consider this another form of self-care, as you're placing yourself in a fixed position with your eyes closed for at least 3-12 minutes. No distractions. I know some people enjoy applying their evening oils to their skin as their facial steaming session comes to a close; both relaxing and beneficial.

I'd love to hear whether you've ever tried using a facial steamer before? Let me know in the comments below whether you like the sound of the Panasonic Facial Steamer!

I'd never thought about trying a facial steamer before, but it's such a nice treat for the skin. And being able to do it at home is even better - and cheaper - than going to a salon everytime you want it. Thank you for sharing Gabrielle!

Hey! I have an oily T-zone which is where I've seen the best results using this steamer. However on the dry skin elsewhere on my face I actually found the steam to be quite soothing - it feels less irritable now! Hope that helps :)

Of course! It improves your skin by opening up your pores, as well as by contributing to your skin's moisture :) Hope that helps!
