It's time to continue the Italian adventures! A quick recap: at the beginning of the summer, I went on a fabulous road trip through Tuscany; booking accommodation often just moments before arriving in a new area. It was hands down one of my most special and memorable travel experiences so far, particularly due to some of the absolute gems we came across. A standout hotel? Villa Barberino. A four-star hotel located just fifty minutes away from Florence (capital of Italy's Tuscan region). This was very much a last minute booking and one that wowed from beginning to end. Due to a wedding taking place on the weekend we were visiting, we were kindly given an apartment to enjoy (and uh, try to cook in). From there, it was a case of changing into something skimpier, exploring the grounds and dipping into the newly modernised pool...
You know when a film is so well produced that it makes you want to head immediately to the location? Well, that's the vibe I picked up while strolling through the grounds of Villa Barberino. Any of the romantic films with subtitles I've watched over the years could have easily been filmed here; complete with all of the traditional and rustic details imaginable. Iron garden chairs, a statement courtyard, sun-kissed walls and views to die for...

Sandwiched in between a busy travel schedule, our stay at Villa Barberino provided the perfect opportunity to unwind and soak up the Tuscan surroundings. When that familiar feeling of restlessness kicked in, we would hop back in the car and head into the hills to reach the most beautiful of view points. Rolling hills of vineyards? Check. A star-filled night's sky with not a living soul within sight? Check. The area truly is a blessing for those looking for a slower pace on their travels...

I'm already excited to share the next instalment of my travels through Tuscany! Though in the meantime, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this luxury hotel? Let me know in the comments below!
