Mother's Day Springtime Table Setting | Joanna Buchanan

Whether you're able to spend Mother's Day with your mum this weekend, or if you'll be sending your love via FaceTime, there are still so many ways in which you can celebrate together!  A talent I'm sure many of us have picked up over the last year of intermittent lockdowns, has been finding new ways to connect with loved ones while social distancing.  I've found comfort in enjoying (carb-filled) meals with loved ones through a screen until life returns to normal and so this Mother's Day, whether you're able to join your mum in person or not, you have great reason to create a beautiful table setting to celebrate the special occasion!  This Mother's Day, I've teamed up with Joanna Buchanan to show you how to include some of the luxury decor brand's designs in your themed setting...

As usual, I've found myself using gold-tone metallic accessories to bring warmth to the table setting.  This includes my favourite gold cutlery set from Anthropologie and honeycomb-pattern champagne glasses.  The golden theme continues with Joanna Buchanan Hydrangea Dinner Napkins held in place with Joanna Buchanan Druzy Napkin Rings.  I don't think I've ever been so smitten with napkin rings!  These gold-tone brass designs feature organic and unique gunmetal druzy stones.  Swoon.

To neutralise the colour scheme, I've opted to bring grey tones into this calming Springtime setting.  Alongside the gunmetal druzy stone detailing, I've fallen head over heels in love with Joanna Buchanan Capiz Ombré Placemats in grey.  Crafted from hand-pieced delicate shells in a fan pattern, these are undoubtedly the most precious placemats in my collection - and what better time to bring them out than Mother's Day?!  The dried flowers used for this setting also help to contribute to the relaxed and informal atmosphere, with hues ranging from cream to taupe.  With this in mind, it can be fun to match any soft furnishings to this colour scheme when styling your table.  You may recognise the Joanna Buchanan Embroidered Palm Frond Pillow from previous blog posts; the velvet design is still a firm favourite!
